Cloudberry (Rubus chamaemorus)

Cloudberry is the most valuable of Northern berries. Pickers get 30-40 marks (USD6, GBP4, DEM11) per kilo even more if the annual crop is poor.

It grows on open and forested peatlands in mid-July or early August. Cloudberry is dioecious and so forth only a female flower develop into a berry.

Cloudberry is rich in vitamins C and A. It also consist a great amount of magnesium and benzoic acid.
